How Much Does an ACSP Charge for Director ID Verification?

By Steve Middleton10 August 20265 min read

ACSP fees for Companies House director identity verification vary, but they are usually modest and fixed. This guide explains exactly what an ACSP charges, what you get for the fee, and when it is worth paying instead of using the free GOV.UK One Login route.

How much does an ACSP charge?

Most Authorised Corporate Service Providers (ACSPs) charge a modest, fixed fee per person to verify a director's or PSC's identity for Companies House. At Fundsure, ACSP identity verification is £49 + VAT per person, with no hidden fees. For orders of three or more directors or PSCs in a single order, a 10% discount applies (£44.10 + VAT per person).

The fee is per person, not per company: once you are verified you receive a single Companies House personal code that covers all of your directorships and PSC roles across every company, so you only pay once.

What is included in the fee

Your £49 + VAT covers the whole verification, end to end:

  • Remote identity verification for Companies House under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act (ECCTA)
  • Electronic address checks, so in almost all cases there is no need for utility bills or bank statements
  • A wide range of accepted documents, including international passports and national ID cards
  • Confirmation of your verified status to Companies House and issue of your personal code
  • Expert human support throughout, not just an automated app
  • A 100% success guarantee: if we cannot verify you, you get a full refund

There are no per-company charges, no subscription, and no add-on fees for international documents.

Why pay an ACSP when GOV.UK One Login is free?

The GOV.UK One Login route is free, so why do most of our clients choose to pay? Because the free route accepts fewer document types, offers no human support, and can be difficult for some directors — particularly those who are overseas or non-UK residents, or whose documents the app will not accept. An ACSP accepts a broader range of international documents, is completed entirely remotely in around an hour, and comes with expert support and a success guarantee. For a one-off £49, most directors decide the certainty is worth it.

Who has to verify (and pay)?

Since November 2025, under ECCTA, every director and Person with Significant Control (PSC) of a UK company must verify their identity with Companies House. New appointments must verify before or at appointment; existing directors and PSCs have a transition period, usually until their next confirmation statement. Verification is a one-off requirement per person — see our main director ID verification page for full details.

How it works

1. Complete a short online form and pay the £49 + VAT fee. 2. Photograph your ID document and take a quick selfie. 3. We verify your identity and confirm it to Companies House. 4. You receive your Companies House personal code, usually within the hour.
