Registered office
An address in a building we actually occupy
45 Albemarle Street is where Fundsure works, and where your company will be registered. The address is provided from the premises of our address provider, in the building we occupy; we are not the address provider ourselves. Mail is scanned and emailed on the business day it arrives, wherever practicable, and not only the statutory post.

45 Albemarle Street, Mayfair
London W1S 4JL, between Green Park and Bond Street
Designed by Ernő Goldfinger and built in 1955–57, the building is Grade II listed, and its listing describes it as one of the most distinguished office buildings of the 1950s. Ian Fleming named a Bond villain after the architect.

What an appropriate address has to do
The Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act rewrote the registered office requirement into two limbs. The address must be one where, in the ordinary course, a document delivered by hand or post would be expected to come to the attention of a person acting on behalf of the company. And delivery there must be capable of being recorded by the obtaining of an acknowledgement of delivery.
Failing to maintain such an address is an offence committed by the company and by every officer in default. It carries a fine and a daily default fine, which is the part most summaries stop at, and it is the least of it.
What follows if the address fails the test
| Stage | Period | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Registrar acts | No fixed notice | The registrar may move the company to a default address. |
| Company must respond | 28 days | Deliver notice of a new registered office, with evidence of proprietary rights or permission to use it. |
| Gazette notice | On default | The registrar publishes notice of intended dissolution. |
| Dissolution | 2 months later | The company is struck off the register and dissolved. |
Sequence set out in the Companies Act 2006 as amended by ECCTA. Statutory position verified 15-Sept-26.
How mail is handled
Every item scanned, not only statutory post
Entry-level registered office addresses commonly forward Companies House, HMRC and court mail and discard everything else. That is a defensible commercial choice and an indefensible compliance one, because the letters it throws away are the ones with consequences: a debt-collection demand, a county court claim form, a bank writing to say the account is being closed, an insurer cancelling cover. The director carries the liability for never having seen them.
Mail is scanned and emailed on the business day it arrives, wherever practicable, and every item is scanned rather than only the statutory post. Against the first limb of the test that is a stronger answer than physical forwarding, because it arrives in hours rather than weeks, it leaves a searchable record of what came and when, and it behaves identically whether you are in London or Singapore.
The counter-intuitive part is worth stating plainly, because the market's pricing argues the opposite. Providers charge more for forwarding than for scanning, so buyers reasonably assume forwarding is the better product. For anyone running a UK company from outside the UK, it is not. Posting a letter to Dubai so it can be opened three weeks later is a worse answer to the statutory test than a scan that reaches you before lunch.
One address product
Scanned and emailed. There is no package to choose, no tier above it and nothing held back for a higher one. Post forwarding exists for parcels and physical items, on request, and is not something you buy instead.
The one genuine extra
Parcels, and what they cost
A parcel cannot be scanned. Nor can a bank card, a passport returned by post, or a bound set of accounts. Those we forward at cost plus a stated handling charge, and we ask you first, every time.
The besetting sin of this category is the surprise per-item fee, and the answer to it is not a promise of no fees ever, which nobody can keep. It is naming the one charge that exists and never applying it without asking.

Taking the address
On its own, or as part of the relationship
Most people who take the address take it with everything else, because the mail arriving here is what lets us watch the filing deadlines. But the address stands on its own if that is all you need.
Before the address goes live we carry out customer due diligence on you and on anyone who controls the company, and the address provider approves each client as well. We then monitor that file for as long as you hold the address. That is not an obstacle we have invented: it is what being supervised by HM Revenue and Customs as a trust or company service provider requires, and it is the reason you can be reasonably confident about who else is registered at this building.
It is also why you cannot buy this in ninety seconds with a card and no questions. If that is what you are looking for, we are the wrong firm, and we would rather say so here than after you have paid.

Complex structures are worth a conversation
Multiple share classes, corporate shareholders, a trust in the ownership chain or a group formed in stages are all things we would rather discuss than have you guess at in a form. Everything else you can complete online, at whatever hour suits the time zone you are in.
